    • sherry! i’ve missed you!
i’ve let a couple of your posts slip by and am now saving them to savor on a rainy afternoon, or late at night when all quiets down.
      you are welcome.

There’s a story in this picture. Perhaps our imagination is enough!

    • hmm. true. oddly, i find myself interested in the structures themselves and how nature goes at them. this property had 3 buildings i wanted to photograph, but somebody was living in the main house and i was too scared to drive down the driveway and get caught photographing some crazy guy’s falling-down buildings! ah ha, there’s the story.

That’s a good call if there is a resident! There is no romance about poverty or struggling with a broken house.

      • i know. so i wonder if i was not compassionate to take a photo of an actual person’s barn/building? being compassionate is of great interest to me. hm. something to wonder about.

It reminds me of the experience of looking at National Trust houses and then glimpsing someone inside – a resident. It quickly alters the context of peering in through windows. I don’t doubt your compassion for a moment!

  4. this was my first “beauty in the decay” photo. seems like ages ago. wow, i was so scared of intruding! today i drove around and behaved much more bravely…with a few exceptions (such as a guy sitting outside in the yard that had an awesomely aging deer statue) I snapped what I wanted. interesting how one grows accustomed. and how one’s passion can change one.

You’ve got a printout of your artistic license in your pocket nowadays!
